The absence of specific legal regulation governing real estate brokerage led to a number of problems that most affected registered business entities engaged in this activity, as well as citizens and legal entities using brokerage services.

Therefore, on the initiative of the Association of Real Estate Brokers at the Chamber of Economy/Commerce of the Federation of BiH, a draft Law on Real Estate Brokerage was created.

The members of the Association recognized the Chamber of Economy/Commerce of the Federation of BiH as an institution that could help them both in drafting the Law on Real Estate Brokerage and in the implementation process itself.

The drafting of the law is the result of years of work by the Association committee, which consisted of representatives of real estate brokers’ associations and employees of the Federation Chamber.

The Federal Ministry of Trade recognized the importance of regulating this activity, leading to cooperation between the Association of Real Estate Brokers at the Chamber of Economy/Commerce of the Federation of BiH and the Ministry, which agreed to be the proposer of the Law, resulting in the adoption of the Law and its entry into force

On 30 September 2021, the Law on Real Estate Brokerage in the Federation of BiH entered into force (Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH No. 75/21)
