The sector brings together all forms of energy and all types of energy sources, and in particular monitors the situation in the areas of coal, electricity and natural gas, as well as renewable energy sources. The sector carries out activities, provides information on the situation in individual segments of the energy sector, and monitors:

• the definition of objectives, participation in the preparation and adoption of the energy strategy and the energy needs balance of the Federation of BiH in cooperation with the competent institutions;
• participation in the adoption of laws and by-laws in the field of energy;
• electricity production from fossil and renewable energy sources;
• restructuring of the electricity industry (power plants, mines);
• participation in the preparation of new regulations and standards in the field of energy during processes related to BiH’s accession to the EU.
