Readiness for digital education in higher education:
The COVID-19 pandemic and the framework conditions of the economy and society of the 21st century are increasingly characterized by smart specialization, digitalization and the use of combined teaching skills, which are lacking among teaching staff in the WB region.
Based on research (literature review, interviews with companies, chamber surveys, data from previous projects), we conclude that the gap between company needs and student knowledge is widening, so the need for the following areas has been identified:
-Digitalization
-Industry 5.0
-LEAN methodology
-Energy efficiency
Waste management in business entities and sustainability and project management have also been identified within the following courses:
-Internet of Things and Blockchain
-Digital twin
-Smart Companies
-Lean organization
-Basic Lean methods and lean audit
-Advanced Lean methods
-Lean games
-Energy audit
-Energy efficiency of technical systems
-Wastewater management
-Noise pollution and project management
Quality assurance tools and methods will demonstrate the project’s achievements. The project will benefit several target groups: current students; graduate students; employees in companies; and lecturers from partner HEIs.
They will adopt new knowledge and innovative approaches and technologies for delivering teaching, such as the application of serious games, virtual and augmented reality.
These 24 licensed lecturers will then spread the knowledge among other lecturers, so the number of lecturers can increase significantly over the years.
All new educational material will be uploaded to the online portal together with short educational films on selected topics and examples for teaching and will be freely available (12 blended learning courses, more than 700 participants will attend the courses, 6 multifunctional learning centers will be established).
