For several decades, the metal and electrical sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina has held the position of the most important sector of the economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although faced with numerous problems, companies in this field are recording expansion in their operations. The steady increase in the number of new companies speaks to the opportunities and potential available to them.

The development of the metal sector in recent years has been most evident in the defense and automotive industries, but the production of machinery and metal parts is not lagging behind.

Foreign trade data indicate that products from the metal and electrical sector are represented in markets around the world. The backbone of the domestic economy consists of approximately 1,400 companies and over 27,000 employees, with a tendency for continuous growth.
